Spring’s off to a strong start for us, and it’s been a busy few months across the practice. In this update, we’re sharing some of the key projects we’ve been working on, along with a look at how we’re continuing to deliver practical, value-driven solutions. We’ll also touch on our team, and the steps we’re taking around sustainability and social value in the built environment.
We are delighted to announce that Richard Oswin has been promoted to Partner, marking an exciting and significant step forward for the practice as we continue to grow.
Clegg are also delighted to announce that we have been appointed on the Bath Quays project as part of the wider development, further strengthening our involvement in the city and contributing to its ongoing regeneration. We look forward to sharing more about our involvement in the latter half of 2026.
𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻-𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿-𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗯
We’ve recently started work on a new £15m health centre and GP surgery in Weston Super-Mare. This marks the first phase of a wider town centre regeneration project led by North Somerset Council.
The new five-storey building will support up to 12,500 NHS patients and is expected to set the standard for future phases. We’re acting as lead structural and civil engineer for Block A, supporting the project from RIBA Stage 3 through to completion.
Our focus is on delivering a solution that’s efficient, practical, and built to perform well long term, while also supporting sustainable outcomes. Keeping the programme on track is a key priority.
The wider scheme will also help unlock further regeneration around Weston Gateway, with plans for community and sports facilities forming part of the long-term vision for the area.
𝗢𝗻𝗲𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗢𝘅𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱
In Oxford, we’re helping transform an existing office building into a specialist clinical facility for OneWelbeck.
The project introduces advanced diagnostic equipment, including MRI and X-ray, into a building that wasn’t originally designed for this purpose. That means careful coordination and a high level of technical detail throughout.
We’re taking an adaptable approach so the building can respond to changing healthcare needs over time, while keeping the design and construction process as clear and straightforward as possible. It’s a great example of how complex retrofit projects can be delivered successfully in a high-performance environment.
𝗣𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗵
Work on Plymouth House is moving steadily towards completion in 2026. Once finished, it will become a new operational base for Avon and Somerset Police.
The building is designed to bring teams together in a secure, flexible space that supports modern policing needs, while maintaining a strong presence in the city. Accessibility and long-term usability have also been key considerations throughout the project.
𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀
Alongside our core work, we’ve been supporting a number of projects within the defence sector. This includes work on fire simulators and infrastructure schemes that support our armed forces. These projects demand a high level of technical rigour and reliability, and we’re proud to be contributing to work of this nature. Find out more.
𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰–𝟮𝟱
Our latest Carbon Assessment, aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, shows a 19% reduction in carbon intensity compared to last year – even with increased overall activity.
We’re still performing below the sector average and continuing a four-year trend of improving efficiency. This reflects our ongoing focus on making sustainability part of everyday decision-making, from energy use and travel to how we work with our supply chain. This progress is backed up by clear actions set out in our Carbon Reduction Plan.
𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺
For us, delivering long-term value isn’t just about projects. It’s also about people.
Alongside Richard Oswin’s hard’s well deserved promotion to Partner. This year, Our Technical Director Martin Stekkinger has continued mentoring students from the University of Bristol, and we recently welcomed students into the office for a work experience day. Supporting the next generation of engineers is something we see as essential to the future of the profession.
We’re also pleased to have welcomed and introduced new starters Tyler Toogood Civil Engineer and Barney Reid, Structural Engineer, to the team.
