Clegg are delighted to have helped Swanage & Purbeck Development Trust with their project to re-erect a historic memorial in Swanage. The memorial was the first in the country to be built in memory of Prince Albert and originally stood about 500 m back from the shoreline. It was dismantled in the 1970s to make way for a development and had been stored in a local quarry since then. Clegg designed foundations and drainage for the monument and helped the Trust engage experienced and skilled local contractors to restore the historic stone masonry of the monument. It is being re-erected on a superb new site in a garden above the pier in Swanage with wonderful views right across the Bay for residents and visitors alike to enjoy.
