Clegg has a long-established and well-respected history with Wessex Water.As a result, we were proud to provide design and detailing services for a £4.9m sewage treatment works in Swanage.
This project was the largest, submerged membrane bioreactor plant of its type in the world. It also achieved a 2003 Civic Trust Award presented by HRH The Prince of Wales.
The sewage treatment plant design is to treat effluent from a summer population of 28,000 people. Situated in an environmentally sensitive area, it is adjacent to the picturesque bay and bathing beach of Swanage.
Clegg were also involved in the design of two reinforced concrete halls. These cut into the hillside using contiguous piles and reinforced concrete retaining walls.
