Project Overview
This eco-luxury treehouse development in Oxford presents a unique retreat set amidst 1,700 acres of ancient woodland in Cornbury Park. Developed in collaboration with EchoLiving, NSE Architects, Quattro Design, and Oasis Habitats, the project features seven exceptional treehouses, each designed to blend seamlessly with nature. The treehouses, suspended 10 feet above the ground, offer a modern yet rustic experience, with timber, glass, and tree-like steel elements used to create a harmonious connection to the environment. Designed to sleep between 2 and 4 people, each unit includes a kitchen, living space, one or two ensuite bedrooms, and an outdoor shower on a private terrace with stunning views of the forest.
Clegg’s Contribution
Clegg played a key role in the structural design of this innovative treehouse development. Collaborating closely with Quattro Design Architects and Oasis Habitats, we were responsible for developing the design of the treehouse pods. A key objective was to meet the client’s high expectations for slender, elegant columns supporting the deck, with a flexible undercroft area for future use.
We worked closely with the architect and other professional teams to seamlessly coordinate all services, ensuring that both the integrity of the architectural vision and the underlying operational requirements were fully realised.
Our approach prioritised a structurally sound solution with minimal visual impact, preserving the natural aesthetic of the site. The treehouses, which opened in 2022, now offer a unique and unparalleled woodland retreat experience.
