Clegg recently worked on a Sport Pavilion for Falmouth School as Structural and Civil Engineers.
This new sports pavilion is a two-storey braced steel frame building. It comprises an in situ suspended reinforced concrete ground floor slab, a composite metal deck at first floor level, and a metal deck at roof level. There is also an external viewing gallery, with continuous circular steel posts supporting the over-hanging roof over.
This was a design and build project under the SCAPE framework. Additionally, we worked with Kier Construction as the main contractor.
As a result of ongoing discussions, the design changed numerous times which led to a final solution. Ultimately, the client was happy to sign off and proceed.
Under this framework and via a thorough and comprehensive technical design stage, this project delivered to achieve the client’s expectations, identified at the outset.
We are all very proud of the result. Everyone has agreed that the Pavilion looks great.
