Cowbridge Mill | Malmesbury

Clegg worked alongside Peter Kent Architects to refurbish a former weaving mill. This was on the edge of the Cowbridge Estate in Malmesbury, Wiltshire.

Minton Group Ltd purchased the site, and were also in the process of renovating Cedar House on the same estate. Clegg Associates also worked on Cedar House as the structural engineers.

After an initial site visit and structural survey, we designed steel beams and new timber floor joists. This facilitated the Architect’s design and ensured the building complied with the design standards.

Repair work was also undertaken to the wall. This was adjacent to the leat pond, creating valuable outside terraces for the prospective residents.

Further structural work included an external timber balcony. Ultimately, along with its foundations and connections, the design and construction formed the front of the large duplex apartment.
