Following on from our previous volunteering day with the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, our team returned last week, this time to the beautiful Vincent’s Wood in Chippenham.
Under the expert guidance of Ellie and her colleague from the Trust, we rolled up our sleeves for another hands-on day of conservation, focusing on path building to improve access through the woodland. With the weather luckily on our side and teamwork in full flow, we managed to complete a good stretch of the path, something we could all be proud of by the end of the day.
What made the experience so rewarding was seeing how even small, practical improvements like this can help more people enjoy and connect with nature, while also protecting the woodland floor from erosion and compaction. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that sustainability isn’t just about large-scale projects – it’s about the collective impact of many small actions.
Days like this also give our team the chance to step outside our normal working environment and reconnect with what drives our approach to design and engineering: creating places that work in balance with the natural world. Working together in the woods, problem-solving in real time, and learning from the Trust’s knowledgeable team offered fresh perspective and renewed energy.

We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership and finding more opportunities to support the vital work they do for Wiltshire’s wildlife and wild spaces.
