Project Overview

Porta is a new residential development situated on London Road in Bath. Commissioned by Strongvox, this project comprises eight individually designed homes, offering a mix of three, four, and five-bedroom properties. The scheme is set to deliver high-quality, contemporary living spaces that integrate seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, while maintaining a strong architectural identity.

The development embraces a modern aesthetic with traditional materials, ensuring longevity and resilience while complementing Bath’s rich heritage. The project is set to welcome residents in 2025.

Clegg Contribution

Clegg played a pivotal role in the structural design and engineering of Porta, ensuring the development meets the highest standards of stability, efficiency, and compliance.

Our contribution included the design of the substructure, incorporating reinforced concrete pile foundations and suspended floor slabs to optimise ground stability and load distribution. Additionally, we provided a comprehensive superstructure design, covering masonry, lintels, floors, structural steelwork, balconies, and roofing elements.

To facilitate smooth project execution, Clegg produced detailed general arrangement drawings, reinforcement drawings, and bending schedules, allowing for precision in construction. Our engineers also developed a building regulation calculation package, ensuring full compliance with relevant UK regulations and structural integrity standards.

Through our expertise, we have supported Strongvox in delivering a robust and aesthetically refined residential community, enhancing Bath’s housing landscape while prioritising sustainability and durability.
